Here at Above-the-Valley Ranch we raise a small herd
of Boer and Boer Crosses. Goats have been a part of our livestock for many years, though we didn't become a serious breeder
until 1997. Our herd started with Alpines, primarily for milk and soap making purposes. It wasn't long until we began to add
Boers. They are now what make up the majority of our herd today. We offer quality does, bucks, and show wethers almost year
round.
You will find that our goats are raised on pasture/forage
and not in a pen on a sack of feed. Feed or hay is only given when necessary and free choice mineral is left out
at all times. We expect our goats to measure up to their highest quality possible without "interfering." This
way you don't recieve a goat that will lose his condition or fall apart once it is taken to its new home.
For this winter, we have planted additional
crops for the herd to graze. We are also turning our focus more to breeding our goats for ones that have the
least amount of trouble with parasites. Our herd usually consists of anywhere from 10 to 25 herd does
and one to two high quality Fullblood bucks at any given time.
We are located in southern Oklahoma right on the Red
River and are members of the American Boer Goat Association. Here at the ranch, we are striving to breed sound, high
quality, fullblood and percentage boer goats that will be able to compete in the show ring, as well as in the
pasture, the natural way!! We hope you enjoy our site and may God Bless You!
